Curriculum Vitae
Marina Mancini is Associate Professor of International Law at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, where she also teaches European Union Law (since 2015). She is also Adjunct Professor of International Criminal Law at LUISS University (since 2007).
She is a member of the Human Rights Review Panel of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo – EULEX KOSOVO (since April 2023).
Marina Mancini has published widely in the areas of human rights law, international humanitarian law and international criminal law. She is the author of the books “Stato di guerra e conflitto armato nel diritto internazionale” [State of War and Armed Conflict in International Law] (Turin, Giappichelli, 2009) and “Statualità e non riconoscimento nel diritto internazionale” [Statehood and Non-Recognition in International Law] (Turin, Giappichelli, 2020). She is also a member the Board of Editors of the Italian Yearbook of International Law.
Marina Mancini has substantial experience in funded research projects in the fields of human rights law, international humanitarian law and international criminal law. She is the principal investigator of the research project “Advancing Accountability for International Crimes through Universal Jurisdiction: Challenges for the European Union and its Member States and Proposals for Action (UNIJUR)” (2023-2025), funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (PRIN 2022). Moreover, she is the Italian member of the Management Committee of the COST Action CA18228 - Global Atrocity Justice Constellations (2019-2023).
Professor Mancini earned her degree in Law, summa cum laude, from LUISS University, in 1998, and received her PhD in International Law from Sapienza University of Rome, in 2003. She was Postdoctoral Fellow in International Law at LUISS University (2003-2005) and Senior Lecturer in International Law at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria (2005-2015).
She was admitted to the Rome Bar Association (Ordine degli Avvocati di Roma) in 2002 and regularly provides advice on international law issues, including human rights violations.
She is a member of the Human Rights Review Panel of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo – EULEX KOSOVO (since April 2023).
