• build a complete, tested and viable proposal of a digital innovation on a real-life problem
Students will also improve other transversal competences, such as:
• the Design Thinking innovation approach and its state-of-the-art tools, which they will also apply in an interactive, real-life project
• contribute effectively to a team project and handle conflicts constructively
• independently solve problems and direct their own learning processes
• how to use as a team their individual professional background knowledge and how to apply it together to a given task
• how to present their project’s results to professionals

Prerequisiti
No prerequisite is needed. However, having followed the course Digital Entrepreneurship Lab can be beneficial
Metodi didattici
The course adopts a problem-driven and collaborative learning approach: theoretical input follows practical application.
Students will work both individually, in the first part of the course, and in group in the second part to carry out a project work that will be evaluated.
Additionally, students will conduct real Field Research with peers and different stakeholders connected to their challenge for identifying opinions and prepare the basis for designing a solution.
According with the same nature of Design Thinking approach, students will be encouraged to take active part at every moment of the course.
An extensive use of the institutional e-learning platform (http://learn.luiss.it) and other advanced digital tools - e.g., Miro - will offer students the possibility to work in collaboration and share materials also outside class time

Attending students
Being this course rooted on a Lab, only students attending classes and participating to activities regularly will get a positive assessment. A minimum of 10 out of 12 sessions must be attended interactively and with personal engagement.
The final grade (max 30 points) will result as the sum of two distinct partial grades:
• the grade assigned to the groupwork (from 16 to 22 points)
• a short individual paper (max 5 pages) on a given subject strictly related to the course (from 2 to 8 points)
Non-attending students
Non attending students have to submit, not later than one week before the chosen exam date, a research report (10 to 12 pages) on a subject given by the teacher.
They will also have to give a presentation of the results of their research in the exam date.

Handouts will be given out along the classes
Contenuti
The course is conceived as an advanced step of the course Digital Entrepreneurship Lab, where the proposal of a digital solution on a given challenge should be enriched, improved and get a step closer to the final decision about adoption.
In the first part, students will be involved in a Design Thinking process titled “Design Your Life”, where they will work individually and will be guided in building a possible professional path according to a rationale of their wills, attitudes and goals. Beside the experience of working on a specific topic related to the recruitment process, this phase will leave students, as a side outcome, a map and a process to approach decisions about their career in the future.
The second part, based on a group project work, asks students to reuse the experience and the knowledge gained on personal attitudes and wills to build a digital solution for enhancing the recruitment process, where such aspects are really hard to manage for the recruiting organization. Both the solution and all the materials used for the final presentation should be significantly advanced, with respect to the former course on Digital Entrepreneurship Lab

Knowledge and understanding:
The course will offer key theoretical and practical tools for designing innovative digital business solutions as well as creating and testing prototypes.
Applying knowledge and understanding:
The students will be able to:
• apply each theoretical input into the real-life digital challenge as a team
• examine real-life problems and behavior trends from different target groups, and deduct from them the characteristics of a digital solution to meet them
• understand how to systematically develop business opportunities and how to make it a business case
Making judgements:
Students will be involved – first individually, later in group – in:
• gathering requirements
• choosing the most valuable ideas
• reflecting on the validity of the digital prototype they will develop
• discussing it with their stakeholders
We then expect students, at the end of the course, to be able to analyze and evaluate the consequences of their choices, make a selection and assess the sustainability of their proposals.
As an outcome of the first part of the programme, the students will also learn how to build, as individuals, their main choices regarding their life, the desired goals and the necessary steps to achieve them.
Communications Skills:
During the course, the students will be involved in interviews with stakeholders of different genres, discussions among their team to explain and credit their individual ideas, presentations of their proposed digital solution to obtain comments and remarks.
Additionally, each student will be called to present something
This will give the students the possibility to acquire and understand
• key terms and concepts related to digital products
• how to ask stakeholders for investigating their needs
• how to present a given subject clearly and pointing to the main interesting aspects
Learning skills:
This course will contribute to empower learners in being able to change perspectives and see problems from different point of views. It will also raise their capacity of both elaborating individually and contributing to a team
